The first time I came across tarot reading was back in middle school while reading a short story called The Fortune Teller.
My interests piqued after watching Rakht, the Bollywood remake of The Gift which deals with a reader's psychic abilities.
The concept of tarot reading and psychic abilities got me digging the Internet for more information.
Here's all you should know about tarot.
The process of tarot card reading
Tarot card reading is a kind of Cartomancy that involves practitioners using tarot cards to gain insight into one's life.
The practitioners are asked questions by clients eager to know about their future or how to tackle a certain situation.
Then the reader draws out some cards to interpret. Many anxious about their future or going through relationship troubles seek tarot predictions.
Tarot cards work as a guiding force
Tarot is not intended to answer specific yes or no questions or make decisions for you but instead guides you to make the decision yourself.
There are two types of tarot readings - open reading and question reading. The former addresses larger aspects of life and are usually requested when entering a new phase of life.
The latter addresses a specific question.
Do tarot predictions come true?
Dr. Madhu Kotiya, renowned tarot mentor says, "Tarot is correct if the tarot reader is not biased and very well-grounded".
"If the reader is biased, the cards will come biased". "There are proper processes through which you can be balanced,
you can be unattached with the person for whom you are reading, then only you get the right answers".
At its most basic, tarot tells stories about the cycles of our lives. Shuffling the deck,
picking out cards and laying them out in order reveals what different trials and tribulations we might face during any given journey.
However, the cards in the major arcana don't necessarily represent us in a given reading; they might represent someone else in our lives,
or symbolize more general issues. Tarot is a complex language, and every reading is different; similarly,
every reader and the methodology they use to interpret the way the cards interact is different.
